Array Minecraft www.minecraft.net
This game is awesome and addicting. Cheaper than WoW, and constantly getting better.

Array I saw a blurb in Game Informer about it. Looks pretty cool, actually.
I'm currently fully in Lord of the Rings: Online, though. "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -

Array Uh, son is completely engrossed in COD Black Ops as we speak ...
But he waited until AFTER his math test to buy it.... I'm SO proud Grammar: it's the difference between knowing your sh*t, and knowing you're sh*t! -

I think only IdleRPG successfully captures the essence of a role playing game. -

Who in their right mind would use the game controls to limit their playtime? Just remember folks, children in the backseat cause accidents, and accidents in the backseat cause children. -

Not that LoTRO doesn't have it's issues, namely clipping problems and the fact that avatars all look like barbie dolls (where's the grit and grime!).
But back on track, how do you like Minecraft? I heard it's just about the most "open" game out there... "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -

It's actually turn based, and there are ways of increasing your number of turns. Having limited play time is good because it increases the value of the experience and decreases the likelihood of players filling their socks with poop because they refuse to step away from the game, which is something that I've heard WoW addicts do.
This is of course anecdote, I don't have proof. Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem

Minecraft is very addictive, and a great amount of fun for just 9 euros. It's hard to explain what's the appeal it has, so I'll just leave this link http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010...the-gap-day-1/ here which IMO gives a good idea of what the game is about. -

Array Any experiences running it on Linux? I hadn't help out much hope for Wine, seeing as it's in alpha still.... "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -

I really want to play it for multiplayer.
If you're needing to use Wine it is out there for MAC OSX, PC, and I'm not sure about Linux (but it seems there for linux too) as for hosting a multiplayer server that gets a bit tricky. Just remember folks, children in the backseat cause accidents, and accidents in the backseat cause children. -

It really is a lot of fun. It shouldn't be - bad graphics, no plot... but so help me, I sometimes have to peel myself off the screen. Definitely worth $14, IMO. Now, back to my hill fort! "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -

Everyone makes a hill fort. I have a three level castle with a mine! (Just kidding, I started one, but gave up on it)
Anyway, if you know enough to know how to make a server (maybe an f.net server? =P) Let me know and I'll do multi-player with ya. Just remember folks, children in the backseat cause accidents, and accidents in the backseat cause children.
