    Italian Men's Foil Clubs

I'm considering spending a year in Italy for fencing. What are some of the best clubs for men's foil?

You should PM Gladius. He might be able to help.

I was in Italy last summer and had the fortune to fence in Rome (Fencing in Italy (Rome, Venice, Bassano Del Grappa )). They were very friendly and very strong in foil.

In Italy there are some very good clubs for foil. The 2 best one I can think of are Club Scherma Jesi (which is famous for Vezzali and Trillini, but there are great men fencers as well) and Club Scherma Roma. This one has a huge number of athletes, so you can fence with many kind of fencers. They have very good coaches and there are some very good fencers.
Of course there are other clubs, but the main problem is that good and great fencers go to the "Army" or things like that, because they pay them for fencing, so you are never sure if they really attend their pervious club (I'm not sure if I made myself clear, but it is something uncommon in the us, so it's not easy to undestand).

    Hope this helps
