    E-mail and newsgroups

What does everyone here use for an e-mail program and a newsreader? Since the latest "update" the Windows Live Mail has been a pain in the butt, particularly on the newsgroup side.

I have tried Thunderbird for the news and was not impressed.

How many people still even read newsgroups?

I use Agent as my newsreader.

Windows Mail (not Windows Live Mail). WinMail has its quirks, but it's good enough for me. But they took it away from Windows 7, I understand.

Gmail and Google Reader for RSS (mostly because I've got a great newsreader app for my android phone).

Alpine (with vi as implicit message editor) or mutt for email. Haven't done usenet in a while, but when I did I primarily used trn.
