Array I voted for 1 but gave my comments on all three (had to trim from 500 words to 500 characters!):
The design of 1 classic & has great movement. 2-3 have issues: The elbow of the extended arm in options 2&3 is awkward (designed around the A of 2?) and looks broken. The mask is wrong in 2&3 and doesn't have enough of a "forehead".
I prefer the USA font w/ serifs in 1 and 2 as the serifs give power and stability. The "fencing" should be in a non-italicized font for easy reading. Fencing in 1-2 is fine in this regard, but the added spacing in 1 lends the whole logo better grace & balance. "I cannot ensure success, I can only endeavor to deserve it" - Capt. John Paul Jones -
I'm not a fan of the new fencer in 2 and 3, I don't think the person who made the image has ever seen a fencer. As others have pointed out, the mask is way off, the weapon arm is weird at the elbow and lacks a hand, and the back foot was done. The fencer also appears to be fencing Epee. I personally like the non-weapon hand, except I think the top finger should be more defined, the top curve of the hand should bend into the finger. I'm not sure why they've created a poll on this, the fencer clearly has a lot of work left to be done, and the mistakes aren't subtle at all.
I actually prefer font from 3 because the italics are more dynamic. I also like the white stroke around the letters, but I think in #3 it's a tad too much and breaks the fencer apart, #2 is better. -

Array And the winner is #2. http://usfencing.org/news/2010/09/09...8452?ngb_id=19
Some pretty amusing language in the announcement. Live every week like it's Shark Week. -

The only real problem with it is the mask looks more like a Kendo mask, if anything. -

Array Based on the most recent USFA email, I guess we have our new new logo... "Sir, didn't I parry"
"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."
(I guess i should have romanced it a bit more..." -
