| Stupid beginner armorer tricks... So I'm out at a San Bernardino divisional event today with my sales booth set up...as is typical, I perform armory services.
I notice a little kid fencing, and am called to the strip because his foil keeps firing the off target light when he just shakes it a little. I look at it and find the barell's EXTREMELY loose. I take the weapon to tighten it (while he grabs his backup foil) and am surprised to find his armorer (turned out to be dear ol' Dad) put the felt pad down -- THEN put the socket on & cranked the grip on! The wiring job itself was actually very good, except he did not leave a lot of slack in the wire for future fixes, and he didn;t have the spagheti tubing long enough...but at least he was concistent; BOTH weapons were like that! I fixed both of them and explained t the kid THAT was why he'd get a white light if he caught a shot on his guard.
*sigh* Even I haven't pulled THAT one off!
BTW, Donald, did you leave a small green Swiss Army knife at SwordPlay yesterday? I;ve got it. |
