That Guy
Array Check out askfred.net I've test driven this site some, pretty cool: http://www.askfred.net
Fencing Results and Events Database
Anyone from a club that actually uses it? I found it to be a pretty cool site.
Cheers,

Array You know, if I were running the askfred site I think I would pull out the old numeric rating system that was proposed awhile back and start running it on all the results I got in. Just to see how things balenced out. If you give a man a fire, he is warm for the night.

Array I came across this from someone's signature. it looks good, is it an official USFA thing? I recently tried to look up a american friend of mine's results for the past year and, to be frank, the current way that this seems to be organised is pretty awful. Any centralised results coordination has got to be a good thing. -

Array No, I don't think it is official. (Which is unfortunate) But I do like the idea. If you give a man a fire, he is warm for the night.

Array FRED and the USFA Hi folks-
My name is Peet Sasaki, and i'm the one responsible for FRED. Craig the webmaster here at fencing.net and i have been talking about how FRED & fencing.net could work together.
Thanks to Craig for starting this thread. I'd love to hear what people think of FRED, including any ideas you all might have about how he could be more useful for running tournaments.
As someone has pointed out, FRED is unfortunately not being used by the USFA, but i have talked to them a bit about it. The main reason they are not looking to do tournament registration like FRED's online is because their insurance company won't let them process a tournament entry without the signed liability waiver in hand, on paper. They hope that soon, as digital signatures become more acceptable, they will be able to accept registration online. (Maybe with FRED? )
So for now, FRED is being used at the sectional, divisional, and club levels in couple areas around the country.
So far, FRED is open to any tournament organizer to use for their tournaments for free. I am considering some licensing schemes, all of which would be very reasonable, but for now, i'm happy to have people try FRED out and let me know what they think. He's still growing & inproving....
What's FRED good for? check out the site and see: askfred.net

Array I fence in the Seattle area and I think it's a fantastic site. I really think it's improved attendance at tournaments because people can look and see who's coming and know it'll be a good competition.
The one-click pre-registration is great, and so is being able to look up results. It's got it all! Similar Threads -
