Asics fencing shoes It's come to my attention that whenever people refer to Asics shoes, they usually talk about the Onitsuka Tiger line, which is supposed to be a shoe that was remade from a very old design. Asics does have dedicated fencing shoes, non onitsuka tiger( which is actually A fashion brand) fencing shoes which if I'm not wrong, are pretty new, and the current japan team uses it. I currently own a pair, and wonder if anyone here knows where I can buy more. I got my pair because my ex coach was Japanese and she helped get a few pairs.
This is a picture of how the shoe looks like. http://www.g-mark.org/award/detail.html?id=21773 -

Array They look like the AF Elite I or low-end Adidas fencing shoes.
I'll stick with their volleyball shoes. Have: Leon Paul Blades Size 9.5 used, good condition, 2 RH L Uhlmann Visconti, 1 RH M Uhlmann Visconti, 1 RH M Uhlmann clone Visconti
Want: FWF Epee Points/Barrels, other random epee crap. Trade? -

Array The Onitsuka Tiger LA`84 was their fencing shoe. All the current Tigers are indeed fashion items suited for a day at the mall.
I like the LA`84 well enough that I bought a couple of extra pair when I learned that they were going out of production. I prefer a thin-soled shoe for better feel, rather than risking a sprained ankle caused by having a thick trainer-type shoe with a thick sole and padding under the heel.
Although it's tough to tell from the small picture, the low shoes pictured appear almost identical to the LA`84 with the exception of a minor change in the pattern around the swoops on the outside. The soles appear to be identical. Metal mesh on the sides was a feature on some color variations, of which there were many.
I haven't fenced on cheese-grater strips much, but my first pair has lasted almost a year at three lessons/practice per week, with the contact spots only recently wearing smooth. -

I'll stick with their volleyball shoes. I can assure all of you that they are totally different as I own the pair I am talking about, and the Onitsuka Tiger fencing shoe. The Asics I am talking about has a totally different sole from the Oasics, much more cushioning, and is made for fencing and not fashion. Also, they are not AF elites or Adidas, as I have said I owned a pair, I was just wondering I anyone sells them. -

Array The only person in the US I have seen with them is/was on the Japanese national team. I have never seen them for sale here and had been told that only those involved with the Japanese national team got them. -

Array Asics / Onitsuka Tiger Fencing LA I have used a pair of Fencing LA shoes for years, they are still holding up. I wouldn't classify them as strict mall-walkers, even though they might have been made as such. I find them to be very capable fencing shoes.
I very much like the gum-rubber soles when I have to fence on gym floors. But the very low sole and light-weight are the reasons I really dig them.
Bonus points for holding up for many years fencing 3-4 days a week, and I am generally pretty hard on shoes. They were also quite reasonably priced, I think I got both my pairs at about 50 a piece.
The fact that they are retina-blasting green is just icing on the cake.
It's too bad that they don't make them anymore. I would buy more pairs for myself and for my kids.

Array Big Butt dynamic technique!
I searched using the japanese term for fencing shoes and hit this:
Speaking of shoes we can get fenced in Japan, was selected Adidas or Asics that almost two. The famous sportswear manufacturer "Nike" shoes seem to put the fencing.
Nike shoes, frankly It's called "Baresutora: Ballestra"
The non-fencer who is not familiar names, which represents the behavior of the fencing. Lightly before jumping with both feet (Bonnaban), and works with the momentum of a big butt (Kudoroa) is that the dynamic technique.
Two blue and red color development. Shoes and so far it was white or gray tone and fare. http://fenmaga.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/30/

This is a picture of how the shoe looks like. http://www.g-mark.org/award/detail.html?id=21773 If that is the exact shoe that you're looking for: http://search.borderless.rakuten.com...=asics+fencing
They grab and translate the product pages from various vendors, so obviously the translations will be less than perfect, but they should get the job done.
Since I haven't actually gone through and checked, I have no idea whether or not those vendors are actually willing to ship to North America, but it's a start.
(Though honestly, for how much it would cost for product + shipping in this case...well, I'm sure you could get ahold of a good pair of shoes for much less. Importing stuff like this generally isn't worth it when you can get an equivalent/better product domestically without all the hassle.)
If you want to do your own searches: フェンシングシューズ (fencing shoes) will pull up mostly hits for the ASICS shoes; TLA341 is the High-top model, and TLA342 is the Low-top.
[edit -- thinking about it, the whole gimmick of that site is supposed to be Japan-overseas shopping, so orders should be possible...but it would still be mad expensive.]

The site shoes shipping to various countries, including the USA. It also gives price estimates in the currency of the selected country (top right of page for country selection).
Interestingly, some of the shoes include shipping in the price (approx $USD185 for lowtop).
Shoe sizes are limited to smaller ones,.
Caution as it seems to say they do not hold stock but have to on-order from the manufacturer, so cannot guarantee availability. -
