I think any propaganda directed at children is pretty creepy. Silly, too, and generally much more heavy-handed than effective. The Chick tracts/comics spring to mind.

I'm just curious here. You seem to have a curiously asymmetrical application of the implication.

If the ALF makes PETA a terrorist organisation, or at the very least a fellow traveler, then the same holds for tea party movement.
How about none. ALF and PETA are two branches of the SAME organization, founded by many of the SAME people, with common funding.

However your tea party logic is very flawed and you have showed no proof to the otherwise.

Hey guys, let's be honest with each other: PETA is mostly crazy and f**k the Sea Shepherd.

ALF is the radical arm of PETA.
I always suspected ALF was here for nefarious purposes.

It is the purview of fools to point out unpleasant truths. You exist in some sort of alternate reality. Really, talk to the doctor about upping the meds.

    You all got it wrong

I have spent a lifetime of dealing with various Special Agents of the Federal Government, and the reasoning behind ED having this kind of firepower is obvious to me.

They are not stockpiling arms in an effort to effect a Police State.

However, neither are they doing it because they need them to protect themselves or to enforce the law.

They are buying these weapons because (a) they are really cool toys, (b) they don't have to pay for them, YOU do, and (c) it makes them feel like they are really cops (which they aren't).

Oh, and by the way Melensdad, I see that you are becoming acquainted with Telk. Don't bother. He knows everything about everything and you are wrong about anything. No matter how much expertise you may have in any given subject, he, at the ripe old age of 24, will know oh so much more. Don't waste your time.

Hee. I am dying to hear his expertise on the subject. Maybe it will come from another right wing nutjob site that looks like geocities threw up on it.

Ok, I will easily agree that those cartoons/comics are twisted and inappropriate, but really they are not advocating violence. If anything they are trying to be scary.

Come on. These weapons are for Obama's secret corps of brownshirts.

But seriously...given the number of nuts attacking government offices lately ( Pentagon entrance, IRS offices in Texas ) maybe they are for security at DOE facilities. Even if there are none housing state secrets or classified data, their employees may still need protection...

Sorry, but it's the Tea Party that is wearing the brown shirts.

Not at all. I have no sympathy for either PETA, ALF, ELF or any other acronyms. My degree of lack of sympathy is variable however. If you wish to say that they are all the same because individuals are members of PETA and support the actions of ALF then you must also accept the original assertion concerning the tea party movement.
