Array ATTN: Purdue Fencing Alumni-- PFC needs our help!! Reposting from an e-mail I received this afternoon. If you fenced at Purdue anytime, ever, please, consider helping the Club out so they can make it to Club Nationals this year, as well as provide sustaining funds for the future.
(I was there when the current weapons racks were built in the Armoury...this is not going to be an easy move, and if you remember Lambert Gym--the original location of the Club 87 years ago--you already know it's not the best venue, ESPECIALLY on football game days. But I suppose it's better than losing space completely :/).
If you remember your fencing days at Purdue (or even if you just want to help), contribute if you can--even a small amount would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Susan Hazel

Greetings PFC Alumni,
Thank you for being a part of 87 years of Purdue fencing tradition. The time and energy that you put in to the club has helped make it what it is today, and we would like to extend the opportunity for you to continue your support.
There are many changes coming our way over the next year, and we are working to ensure the continued viability of the club. Due to renovations at the Recreational Sports Center (the Co-Rec), we will be losing our space for the next two years and be moved to Lambert Gym. We have been increasing our fundraising efforts to help prepare for the changes, but we still will not be able to cover the large cost of competing in Club Nationals in Philadelphia.
Fortunately, we have been awarded a grant to help pay our travel expenses. As a part of this grant, we need to raise $175 in additional funds to obtain the full amount.
With our current fundraising efforts going to equipment and preparation for the loss of our venue, we are calling to our past members to help us reach our goals. We are aiming for high percentage participation instead of large individual donations, so we are asking for a small amount from each person. A $20 gift from you will not only assist with our grant opportunity, it also helps the club remain active during these next two years. Your contribution can be made through the University Development Office website using your credit/debit card, and would then qualify as a tax write-off. The address is https://awc.alumni.purdue.edu/ud_mag.asp and the first line "Make a New Gift" should be set to "Other, see Special Instructions, below." In the second line, please write "Purdue Fencing Club BOSO# 1132" and any other information about you, the donor, so the funds are directed to our BOSO account. If there is any problem with the site you can contact Mary Seyfried (mseyfried@purdue.edu) or Angela Davis (davis174@purdue.edu). We have to show our results by April 2nd to qualify for the grant so please donate soon.
Since we don't have a complete list of our alumni, we maybe missing some key alumni. If you think someone should see this note, please forward/tag it to them!
Thank you from all the current membership,
Tiago Forin-President
