Oh, I know! (She won the last Sectionals she entered...) She asked me why the policy would have been set up like this and I told her the USFA probably assumed she would not want to enter the silly thing!!!!
I did tell her that she probably would have no problem listing enough 'results' in her petition to show that she would have qualified had she entered.
What are the main reasons for a Div I medalist to fence Div IA? Practice, possibly get an A10? Other reasons I'm not thinking of ? It's usually a fun event with good fencers and no pressure.

She'll still need to give a good reason why she can't attend any of the qualifier possibilities though...
That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again.

I think the only thing you have to be excused from is Sectionals, which she can't attend. The others are supposed to be 'bonus' qualifying paths -- not mandatory tournaments if you can't make Sectionals.

Because some people enjoy fencing?
That's why I plan to compete in DIAMS in Atlanta.*

* Or rather because _I_ enjoy fencing.
