| Fencing on the Gilmore Girls I found this while making an unrelated search. I don't know anything about the show, but it seems to involve some high-school age characters.
Rory, Paris dueling
Fans of the WB's "Gilmore Girls" know that Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Paris (Liza Weil) can engage in verbal fencing at any time. But how about trying it with real swords?
Turns out they will in the show's Jan. 21 episode. Taking a cue from Madonna in "Die Another Day," the two will exchange in a little swordplay.
"They take fencing for gym class," Weil tells TV Guide Online. "And Paris uses it as a way to get Rory, because she's upset at something she's done. It's scary and violent. At first I thought 'This is too much.'"
The fight is caused by some intrigue in the school government, but with these two it doesn't really matter what starts it. Weil says the scene is pretty intense.
"We had to study fencing for awhile," Weil says. "It was really cool. We also had these amazing doubles come in. I had Buffy's double and I was star-struck. She's amazing. They made us look really good.
"If anybody was behaving this way in a real school, they'd be expelled," she says. "It is weird to be doing a sport in P.E. (in which) the original objective was to kill people." |

| ARGH!!! Don't remind me of this show! The production company screwed me out of a potential $8,000.00 + sale! I spent time taking complete measurements for 10 actors and provided them to the production company, fully invoiced. 10 actors also means 10 stunt doubles, and since they were wanting to make everyone look EXACTLY the same, that meant they were planning on buying 20 complete sets of dry gear, full uni and weapon.
THEN they go with someone else...we all think they found a prop house.
And I STILL haven't been paid for the mask, jacket, glove, foil, knickers, socks & shoes they bought from me for the two female leads and that I delivered when they were in training almost 3 months ago (didn't invoice it seperately because they were going to buy more later and they asked me to hold off until the entire order was completed. Won't make THAT mistake again!)
PLUS the actors from SwordPlay who went reported that it was a Hell shoot...and they were pissed when they found out I did NOT get the sale.
GGrrrrr.......... |

| A TV show on the Warner Brothers network (The WB, as we call it here). I don't watch the show myself...when I have a chance to watch TV it's either Cartoon Network, Discovery or TLC (science & learning channels), with the odd Comedy Network show here & there.
Since I'm based in Burbank (about 20 miles max from the Hollywood studios...but only about 5 from the WB), I'm starting to get more film work. This episode just ticked me off.
Every production company is different. The next WB show I get may act completely different, even on a large order. |

| Sandra WAS cute! Actually, Arli$$ treated me pretty well...when the accounting folks found I was in the hospital with that kidney stone, they immediately paid without quibbling! Also, they rented some masks from SwordPlay...but here's the differance between Arli$'s production company and the one for Gilmore Girls. Normall, Tim Weske rents for $10 per item per day. In order to make the rental work, he had to buy some more masks. The Arli$$ people -- ONE THIER OWN -- offered to rent them for Tim's purchase price. He made no actual profit from it, but he essentially got about 6 free masks! Since he's rented them out sincem they're already making him money. |
