| Sorry crossed wires. Tunisia was cancelled last year (I know that Slough ran because I was there...).

| Women's Foil, did pretty well.
Men's foil was very hard (with quite a few foreigns as well). Although a very entertaining final, if you stayed to watch that :-)

| He gave the referee (Robert Kiss) a lot of unjust grief about his decisions (Robert Kiss is a very good referee and, although retired now, a fantistic world class fencer). This involved the fencer (a Danish guy, I think) unplugging from the piste. Eventually the guy refused to fence, got unplugged again and went up to Robert and gave him a big kiss on the lips. In one way the whole thing was rather awful (very bad behaviour) and in another way pretty entertaining.
I stayed to watch until the end because a friend (guy I have know for about 11 years) made it to the last 4.

| I'm a foil fencer in the UK, from Kent. I'm lucky because my school just started a fencing club (it's something I'd wanted to do for a while) which is free and has all the equiptment provided.
How much are most clubs in the UK? (darn, only two more years of free school fencing ) |

| That sounds quite reasonable, I was expecting more.
Do you have to buy your own equipment? |

| Aoife - no, but the club equipment is grim (like every club?! ), and all the foils are size 3. I've got all my own kit tho. |

| I guess I'm lucky, our equipment is quite good (I think... having never known anything else, it's hard to say ) It's all brand new, which helps I guess |

| Most University Clubs are pretty cheap: often you just pay a joining fee (maybe £10) and then pay extra for private lessons, if you want those.
Most general clubs are porbably about £4 a session. I pay different amounts at different clubs I belong to: £4 a session at one, about £14 a month at another, about £60 a term at another and £180 a year at another. Some clubs inlcude private lessons, but I pay extra for coaching on top of that.
It depends on the club and the area. If you are really keen, you might end up in London. There I think you can pay about £300/£350 (adult) a year at a very good club that allows you to train 3 or 4 nights a week.
I wouldn't worry for now - just enjoy it whilst it is cheap ;-)

| In London I know Salle Boston is about 200 pounds a semester for fencing twice (I think) a week. But that includes a lesson about every second session. Uni of London I have no idea about, though I do know their coach also coaches at Salle Boston. Hope taht helps a bit!!!
