Although I also hate fencing near-to-last on the last day, on the two or three lonely strips that have yet to be taken down, under the glare of the people with brooms and mops and screwdrivers who are praying the bouts go a little quicker so they can just get this thing over with and go home... -
Actually, Women's 50 Epee IS last. And, clearly, they did not mean for any of us to fence the Div 2 team (which I could have fenced) since it is at the exact same time. I guess I am glad I did not convince anybody to register a team "just in case" the times ended up working out.. -

I reject the condition. I am equally vexed when I must arise that early in any time zone, including my own! Unlike Electra, morning does not become me... Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Yes, but those from the Pacific time zone fencing in the Eastern time zone have to rise at 3:00 in the morning. At least those already in the East only have to rise at 6:00 am.
3:00 am is getting up in the middle of the night rather than early in the morning. -

Array Hmmm...while morning may not become you, it would appear -- like the rest of the Classical Pantheon -- that your troubles seem to be of your own making. -

You mean, by being 52? By fencing sabre? By being foolish enough to enter an NAC? Use the Shift key, people! I've had brain surgery, what's your excuse? -

Array Why? It's not as if the chairs fight back or anything. Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

If they are truly old men like me, they should be falling asleep at 8 and waking at 4. Turn in your keys to the condo in Boca. Score 3 strokes, 4 seizures and 2 brain surgeries

Advanced Sleep Phase syndrome of Aging http://www.neugenes.org/circadian.htm
Advanced Sleep Phase of Aging is a profound problem for the elderly population. In fact, one third of the population over 65 years of age experience a change in their sleep cycle when they fall asleep at earlier and earlier times and then wake up early in the morning. The cause of this condition is not known but it appears in association with the normal aging process. We hypothesize that age-related changes in gene expression (rather than gene mutations) are one possible cause of the shortened sleep time for the elderly. http://www.neugenes.org/circadian.htm
Sometime in late puberty, the body secretes the sleep-related hormone melatonin at a different time than it normally does. This changes the circadian rhythms that guide a person's sleep-wake cycle. For instance, if you told your teen to go to bed at 10 p.m., she may end up staring at the ceiling until 1 or 2 a.m. waiting to fall asleep. At about 7:30 p.m. a teen feels wide awake and fully alert, unlike an adult who is starting to "wind down" and feel sleepier as the evening progresses so that at 10 p.m. the adult is ready to go to bed. The teen-agers "wind down" time takes place much later.

Array Or just cause we are old and grumpy. I look forward to the day when I can just sit on my lawn holding a garden hose and spraying people shouting ,"Get off my yard!"
I'm only 54 by the way. Score 3 strokes, 4 seizures and 2 brain surgeries
