Carmimari Vs Negrini Okay...
I've been using the Carmimari french grips but they are becoming harder to get hold of. Negrini sell their own french grip and also the Shermasport french grip and i want to know the difference and which is longer between the Negrini and the Schermansport.
Thanks

Array The Schermasport are curved more than the Negrini, so the length following the curve of the grip is longer, but the length measured end to end not following the curve is about the same. -

Array The Shermasports are shorter than most french grips because they are made to fit with their two-piece pommel, which are about 2cm longer than a normal pommel.
I only have old Negrinis, and they are normal length... They may have changed those over the years.

Array I only have one negrini and it is one of the shortest french grips I've seen, so that's where I was figuring about the same as the schermasport. -

Array Between the two of you, there might be an answer to this: what does Normile use? I have one Reith grip with that S-bend, and it's really really nice, but they don't all come like that. Array The Reith grips are based on the Schermasport, which have the S-bend, but manufactured differently so they are less consistent. I don't know which brand grips Normile uses, but Bill Reith once told me he puts them on the weapon and then bends them, so any aluminum core grip is a possibility. If you saw what he used to use, it was almost a Z shape. -

Array Z shape instead of S
lots tape on the pommel (inside hex, so my guess is FWF or Allstar)
red rubber outerlayer french (Allstar rubber?) -

They probably shortened them when they took on the Shermasports to push sales of the pricey (+$40) two-piece pommel. My Negrinis are old, but my Shermasports are recent.
