Is it legal to put tape on a pistol grip? I know there's a rule that orthopedic grips should be held only one way to be legal. Are there any rules on putting tape on the grip to modify it? I'd like to add some tape to the bottom of the Visconti to make my pinky more active (right now it barely does anything since the grip handle is so far back) Am I allowed to coil wire around the wrist-part of the pistol grip and put tape over it to alter the cog of the blade?
I'd like to know if there are rules prohibiting this at any tournament level.
EDIT: this is for foil.

Array Then generally yes, unless the tape is placed so as to move your thumb more than 2cm away from the bell guard, that is, unless the tape is so that you can hold it further back. Depending on the exact nature of what you're doing, it could become illegal, but many foilists put tape on their grips. -
Alright, thanks. I don't plan on doing anything that drastic. Similar Threads -
