Visor Masks Banned by USFA

Visor masks are now banned for USFA competition, including Junior Olympics:

The ban, unfortunately, only applies to Foil/Epee masks. Visor masks for saber are still permitted.

It is my opinion that they should ban all visor masks. My armorers will be advising fencers and parents who present saber visor masks at JOs that in our personal opinion, they may not be safe. They will, however, be inspected, and passed if they meet current inspection requirements.

All of the issues raised by the lab on the failed mask apply equally to saber masks. The lack of concern by the FIE, and the USFA for saber fencer safety is, to me, appalling.

I find appaling that the USFA wont make a ruling concerning a minimum level of protection for uniform materials.
