Picking Out Foils? Hey Yall.
Many people say that foils depend on luck sometimes and the batch. Well tomorrow, i am going to a large tournament and i want to purchase a vniti,STM fie or a BF white. How do i know which will be the most balanced? feel best? and be most durable? flicky or anything???? what is the rule of thumb on picking out foils? -

Array Here's a good post about what to look for and how to go about setting up a blade: Picking out the right blade
I could give you a really long summary of what you can expect from certain blades, but it all comes down to personal preference. If you don't know what you're looking for, I'd recommend StM because it's a little cheaper, and it's pretty much middle of the road on everything. You should basically just wave the blade around until you find one that feels like it's the right weight/balance/flex for you. It's not as good as actually having the blade on a complete weapon, but you can get a pretty good idea of what the blade is like. Unfortunately, some things like durability are properties of the metal itself and you'll never know how long a blade will last until you've broken it. -

It's kinda like when Harry Potter goes to buy his wand, he just keeps trying them out until he finds the right one. It's an individual thing. Similar Threads -
