STM- The CHEAP BF? I want to get a new foil and i primarily use vnitis but i just don't like them as the BF white. i only use them because i broke a BF white in 4 months but i guess that's because i was inexperienced and fenced about 4 hours a day everyday. Now i want to go back but they are way to expensive. Are there any foils that feel very similar to the BF but arn't as expensive and durable?
I hear that STM FIEs follow this description is this true???if so should i buy one? -

I hear that STM FIEs follow this description is this true???if so should i buy one? Yeah, AFAIK, STM FIEs tend to be similar to BF blues; stiffer and a tad heavy— of course they also are about $30 cheaper too. But if you don't like Vnitis, IDK if you'll like STMs... -

Array Disregard the above poster. The answer to all your questions is no. -

Array I can't speak for foil, but for the record, my StM FIE Epees feel very much like my BF epees and last longer. I actually prefer the more recent StM blades I've bought for their consistency and balance. -

STM FIE foils are nearly as heavy as vnitis; slightly, more closely balanced to BFs but don't last as long as the vnitis to get the famous schwanging vniti slo-mo whip.
So, as you probably know in your heart of hearts, you should probably stick with vnitis until you can afford BFs. -

Array I don't care for StM foils. They are on the heavy side, they are very inconsistent from batch to batch as far as feel/flex and they are not that much cheaper than BF whites. The worst thing for me though is that they tend to get more and more flexible right up until they snap. Vniti's break in and then stay fairly consistent, but a lot of StM foils soften up throughout their lifespan. If I by two blades and break them in, I like to know they are going to feel the same even if one is more heavily used than the other. Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Array Just to make sure you hear this enough, erooMynohtnA is totally correct. StMs feel NOTHING like BFs, white or blue. Nothing at all. Not even a little bit. Anyone who says otherwise should try fencing with their hands instead of their walrus-like flippers, because the difference is extreme. They are not even remotely similar. No, no, the answer is no.
The only thing remotely close in feel to a BF that I'd recommend would be Absolute's Ultra FIE foil (Similar feel, little bit lighter, not nearly as durable.) or possibly a Chevalier (Slightly stiffer, fairly durable, will take a radical kink if your distance is bad.) NOT under any circumstances, an StM.
