European clothing sizes? I'm looking at ordering some items from Fechtsport-Langenkamp but have no clue what size I am in European sizes. Obviously the measurements would be in centimeters, but the fact that they have some sizes that would either be absurdly large or small based on that frightens me. I don't want to get a poncho if I accidentally order the wrong size, and of course shipping it back to Europe would be a pain. I already know that Uhlmann gear fits me well, but with American sizes. I submitted their clothing size form, but no response yet (it's been four or five days). Anyone know how to find out a European size? -
The strange looking very large or small numbered sizes are "tall", "stocky" or childrens' sizes.
English language versions of the Uhlmann sizing chart can be downloaded from: http://www.uhlmann-fechtsport.de/down_g_e.htm
Unfortunately the charts aren't in html but rather are zipped versions of either MS Word or Wordperfect documents.
The sizing chart also can be found printed on the paper insert (the one with the serial number on it) that comes with Uhlmann jackets or knickers. If someone you know owns the same Uhlmann model of clothing you're interested in, perhaps they'd still have the paper version. -
Here's a link to an allstar sizing chart: http://212.86.185.32/zusatzdokumente/GrTab_Anzug.GIF
The Uhlmann and allstar sizes are close but not the same. For example, Uhlmann makes men's size 110 jackets but you'll see on the chart that while allstar lists sizes 108 and 112, they don't list 110.
Also, waist and hip size ranges (measurements "3" and "4") can differ slightly between allstar and Uhlmann garments of the same numeric size. -
Thanks for the help. Now I'm off to do some measuring. Similar Threads -
