We have a soldier out in the field Fencer’s – Armorer’s & everyone else!
We have a fellow fencer that needs our help!
We have a fellow fencer out there right now that is doing the work of a true soldier -helping kids in a foreign country on a solely voluntary basis! They need our help and they need it now!
Our brother fencer is Alex Paul. Yes, Alex from Leon Paul Fencing.
Here is Alex’s message from his web site:
Dear friends, colleagues and previous sponsors,
As you may know Emily and I are taking a year out of our normal jobs to volunteer in Sierra Leone. We are working with the Welbodi Partnership who support the Ola During Children’s Hospital, the only Paediatric Hospital in the country. Welbodi is a small organisation run and managed by people on a voluntary basis so it has minimal overheads meaning that almost every penny of the money you donate ends up in the Hospital saving lives.
In Sierra Leone one in every five children die before the age of five which is one of the highest child mortality rates in the world. The Hospital is currently short of vital basic equipment such as oxygen concentrators and the lack of these supplies mean that children that could be saved relatively easily are not. This kind of equipment is relatively inexpensive and can go on saving lives for years.
Please help us to support this fantastic cause by donating whatever you can on our fundraising page here: http://www.justgiving.com/Emily-and-Alex-Welbodi-SL
If you can donate a little or lots, please go to this link above and give what you can. Alex and Emily are doing the hard work, we can at least support them resting from our lazy-boy. Right?
