All three remaining Americans are through, excepting David Willette, who lost to Stoukaline 14-15 in the preliminary round.

Massialas beat Stoukaline 12-6, Chamley Watson beat Cieply 15-9, and Horanyi beat Prymack 15-10.

There is also something about watching the matches (retrouvez les matches en direct), but the link doesn't work presently, at least in the US.

Massialas, Meinhardt and Getz are in the 32. Horanyi and Chamley-Watson yet to fence. Massialas has to face Aspromonte instead of Cassara. Meinhardt has Zhang and Getz gets Barrera.

To be exact, they should be fencing now. The Aspromonte-Cassara bout looks like a big surprise to me. Luky Alex (unless Aspromonte is on fire this weekend)

Massialas and Meinhardt in the 16s. Massialas looks good to make the 8. Meinhardt has to get through Joppich. Shoulda watched those videos of Joppich's counterattacks. Getz out in the 32s against Barrera.

    Go Bay Cup fencers!

Interesting GP, in that Baldini, Cassara and Le Pechoux all lost in 64s.

    Paris GP

Amasing results for US Foil fencers at the Pair GP esp since the top 2 finishers are both from the same club! Could this be the start of a Foil dynasty like that of Women's Sabre?

Extraordinary for a 15 year old to finish in the top 16 of the blue ribbon foil GP. Surely one to watch...

Check out his result from last year, too.

Yeah, goddamn dude. Plus Gerek and Alexander both seemed (from the scores) like they had reasonable shots at making the next round, too.

This is making me want to spring for fie-video.com.

Also! Guess who didn't make the top 8!

    - The Germans
    - The French
    - The Italians

Already, this is about an 8.5 on my weird sh!t Richter scale.

    But it gets better!

Out of the top 8 seeds:
    - 1 made the 4
    - 3 made the 8
    - 5 made the 16
    - 3 lost in the 64

Out of the top 16 seeds:
    - 5 made the 8
    - 8 made the 16

This isn't quite like this year's ME worlds, but I guess that's what you get for seeding based on the previous season.
