Do you have to be 18 to volunteer on campaigns?

Do you have to be 18 to volunteer on campaigns? I want to make the world better, but I don't know if you have to be old enough to vote to do it. Thanks.

Now, now sock puppets don't need school, just a nice sock drawer to curl up when they're not typing.

When I volunteered, we had a few high school students volunteer on weekends (with their parents' permission, of course).

I AM in school. They think it's a good idea for us to have laptops LOL.

Thanks for the advice. Some friends of mine are going to work on campaigns this summer, but their 18 or going to be by that time.

Depends on the campaign, and it depends on what you'll be doing at that campaign. You might have to be over 18 for going door-to-door, but not for stuffing envelopes.

I know my children give me odd looks when I make suggestions like this:

Why don't you pick up the telephone and call the office of whomever it is you wish to volunteer and ask the campaign director?

No, No. Do not text, facebook or tweet. Use the old-fangled technology and talk person to person.

You don't have to be 18 to make the world better. You just have to find a gun and point it at your face. Conversely, you could go find a heroin dealer and tell him why you think he's a terrible person. Whatever floats your boat.

Really! That's unkind. If he's NOT a sock puppet, but a real person, then it's an incredibly cruel thing to say to a teenage boy.

So he's a jerk. Most teenagers are. They can grow out of it.

Suicide is final and leaves friends and relatives with questions that can never be answered and a burden of guilt that they may not deserve.

Do you have reliable evidence for this besides the over-the-top postings?
