Array New Men's Epee videos (not from the NAC) http://www.youtube.com/user/trueflipmode
Avdeev vs Abajo --- For all you out there who think small fencers can't win. Watch this.
J.Jeannet vs Tagliariol
And Verwijlen vs J.Jeannet (Tallin 08)
Is there any interest for me to upload the women's foil and men's foil? -

Array J.Jeannet vs Tagliariol. Wow. I honestly don't think I've seen a better épée bout than that one. Thanks for posting this. It's too late in the day for me to do any analysis and the technical repertoire of both is so deep. Hey kiddies, if you want to see how an attack into preparation is done in the big leagues, check out (I think) Jeannet's fifth touch. Smart, smart, smart. -

He allows Avdeev to begin his actions from exactly the same distance and almost the same place on the strip for about, hmm, ten touches. Just as I don't think I've seen a bout like Tagliariol-J. Jeannet in a long time, I don't think I've seen a high-level bout so tactically rotten, period.
Anyway, allowing Avdeev to set the key condition of his actions seals the deal for Abajo. Abajo, though he continues to attack after three touches, doesn't really ever try a compound attack. Or even trying to draw out his opponent and hitting him with the stop. In any case, Abajo doesn't really manage tempo well enough to get a compound attack going.
Avdeev looks ashamed of his opponent at the end. Abajo showed very little of what he is capable. Worse, he just scratched the surface of Avdeev's game. The Russian was never really forced to think and adapt or, as we say, "fence". -

Array Tagliarol v Jeannet was a great bout. Tagliarol really dominates in the 3rd period. Amazing hand speed and accuracy.
As for Abajo. I think that's an excellent example of "bad day at the office".

Definitely for the Mens Foil. -

Array Okay I'll just upload the rest of what I have. Maybe I'll cut training short and do it tonight... probably won't happen until Saturday.
Abajo vs Avdeev - I think this was one of this situations for Abajo where you are down 5 points (6-1) and you know you just need to relax, regroup and focus. He doesn't give Avdeev the necessary respect and he just continues with long attacks with little to no set up. I really like Anton's attitude throughout the bout.
Jeannet vs Tagliariol - Any French vs Italian makes for an epic bout. (excluding Grumier and Pizzo in montreal) This bout reminded me a lot of former bouts between Fabrice and Kolobkov. I hope Jerome keeps at it, because these two have the potential to make some pretty huge matches. Similar Threads -
