There are more Republicans electing not to seek another term than there are Dems...in both houses.
I have a hard time thinking of 2 Dems retiring -- regardless of their ranking within Congress -- as being a death-knell for the party, or something indicating Obama's admin in serious trouble....the party in the WH ALWAYS loses seats in the following mid-term.
Those GOP seats coming open could just as easily go to a Dem as the 2 Dem seats going GOP.
Maybe not, once the health care bill's pain kicks in, with the "pleasure" deferred for 3 or 4 years.
Republicans don't need to retake control, just erode the Democratic supermajority. And then I fear that we shall see what I predicted back when the Dems were blocking Bush's SCOTUS nominees: The Reps will do the same thing, only more so.
