    Gay marriage claims another victim

Why is this not brought up in the only news outlet that tells the truth?

Nothing about how Gay marriage has undermined and ended another ordained couple? The spin doctors must be slipping

What happened to upholding the sanity of marriage? What happened to "Until death do us apart"?

Divorce is a sad thing. If he was a culture warrior who yapped about the sanctity and permanence of marriage - and was notable for attacking gays - I might think his karma came and got him, but I can't take pleasure in somebody's marriage breaking up, no matter their political stripe.

Well I don't know if he attacked gays, but he attacked gay marriage over and over and over, again and again and again

Really? Is this how desperate liberals have become? To accuse conservatives of things they haven't even done? To take unrelated things and throw them up like sand into our eyes?

Politicians's (and others who haven't taken Covenant Vows) marriages fall apart. Big deal. The real thing your wanting to talk about is that sodomites should have the same rights as self-respecting humans. But before you say "yeah, so what?" answer me this: How would you have felt growing up with two mommies or two daddies? How do you think your childhood would have been? What if your dad or mom was married to a horse and made you call it dad or mom?

Liberals want to allow everything to happen, but we can't let that happen. This Nation was founded on Christian values. Thou shalt not murder, steal, or institutionalize the disgusting things that gay people do.

You know, there's nothing actually preventing someone from saying they are married to a horse and making their children call it dad or mom.

Somehow, I'm just not convinced there's going to be a lot of people clamoring to marry horses if gay marriage is allowed. Just saying....

People can SAY whatever they want (just look at obama and his cronies). The problem is setting LEGAL PRECIDENTS allowing immoral acts to become part of society. Not to mention the ECONOMIC damage caused by giving tax breaks to any two people who want one.

    I forgot the flow chart.
2 straight parents > 1 single straight parent > 2 gay parents = sex with animals

there are legal precedents for 'immoral' acts becoming parts of society. pornography is legal but immoral by some standards. same for drinking, gambling, divorce, adultery, polyamory, etc.. but all of them are generally legal.

in addition, to even imply that we're going to give any legally entitled human rights to animals is ridiculous. there's clear legislation and jurisprudence that defines a natural person, and there's no way that this would be changed in any marriage legislation, even if someone wanted it to be changed.

and what exactly makes you think that opening up marriage will make anything any worse than it already is with respect to people getting married for tax breaks? people already do this, and it is a minority of people who do so. what proof is there that opening it up will make it suddenly run rampant?

I always got the feeling that Rove, while a conservative and anti-gay bigot, was really motivated by winning partisan politics more than anything else. His theory was to keep the base motivated, and he knew that social issues are a big item for them. Just a few years ago he was bragging about creating a permanent Republican majority, look how well that's worked for him.

He's also on the losing side of history: notable bigot exceptions aside, younger people are increasingly accepting of homosexual rights.

If chase wants to establish a theocracy, I suggest he relocate to Saudi Arabia or Iran. Here in the USA we do things differently - we have freedom.

Speaking for myself, I would be really pissed off if we went to laws based on Old Testament prohibitions. Bang goes that bacon-wrapped shrimp I like so much. We'll have to go around putting to death people who work on the Sabbath, have coffee with milk after a steak dinner, trim their hair, or plant more than one crop in the same field.

Look how well that worked out for Persia, Greece and Rome.

Hey, I'm a little fuzzy on my classical history today, but since Persia was defeated by Greeks, and Greeks supplanted by Rome (who stole and renamed their gods - what nerve!) are you saying there was a natural (or unnatural!) progression? Go Spartans!

Maybe that's why the Romans had all those columns, just couldn't keep 'em out of their minds.
