What a cool idea! Considering I haven't fenced since May, all three weapons would be a challenge for me - but being on New Year's Day - well there's a built in excuse for poor performance!

    All adults should

have a possible built-in excuse for their performance.

Top ten reasons why everybody should fence:

    1. It's going to be fun.
    2. We supply equipment so you can try out new weapons.
    3. Some people just fence better or worse after enjoying New Year Eve.
    4. TROPHIES out to 8 place. Say there are 16 fencers and you win one DE, you get a trophy. Cool, huh?
    5. We supply the snacks and refreshments.
    6. Maybe you find out you are better at fencing a different weapon...that would be good to know...
    7. Watching good fencers attempt to fence other weapons. ["How do you do that head parry, again?"], says the epee fencer or ["My toe, really?" says the sabre fencer]
    8. Cheap chance to try out another weapon $5 for the second or $5 more for third event.
    9. Did I say trophies? Yes. 24 trophies!
    10. Help us celebrate 6 great years of DFC.
