Epee: C-Line goes hot

This came in to my email. I'm not an epee person, so can someone try an answer?

After several bouts my epee will go dead then my C line will go hot. I'm very hard on contact springs but I do not know what makes my blade go hot. Can you give me any Ideas or do i need to just rewire and forget about the "Why"

Is it possible to find out what Mr. Cohen means by the term 'Hot'? Is he indicating that the weapon is developing an A-C or B-C short? I'm afraid you haven't received any replies as there is not enough information. If he wants to contact someone directly, you can give him my e-mail or if you have his location and we have an Armorer there, they could contact them.

Pending a clearer explaination of the problem, I'll take a guess that he means that the weapon simultaneously goes dead and his opponents are able to register touches on the weapon. If this is the case, then what it sounds like to me is a body cord problem, such as that all three wires are broken (probably coming out of one of the plugs). When the cord is not under stress, the wires are making contact inside the insulation, but as the cord gets flexed in use the broken wires separate, resulting in both the inability to register a touch and the loss of grounding for the weapon.
