CARUSO AND THE SWORD - fencing film in development

I’ve written a feature-length script featuring fencing and I’m in the process of getting this film made. I’m not asking for money and I won’t spam you with an avalanche of emails.

I’m building a database of people interested in seeing this movie produced. A database of 100,000 interested individuals sends a more positive message to potential contributors than a database of 1000. You can go to www.carusoandthesword.com for more information.

The synopsis is on the website. The script, CARUSO AND THE SWORD, is also on the website (please note that if you have not read a film script before they are not written like novels and it takes some getting used to).

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or post your question on this forum.

    Thank you.
    Paula Smith

Good luck! I'm almost done reading it and I can't wait to see it!

Not only will I be first in line for the midnight showing, I'll arrive in costume.

I refuse to see any movie featuring David Caruso.

Sorry DavidX there is no nakedness.

And, it doesn't have anything to do with David Caruso.

Purple - don't be like that baby.

I will not be ignored - not when I am standing on top of the smoking ruins of the fencing world - with Tim Moorehouses head dangling from the end of my righteous steel.

Swords and nakie - what a sweet combination.

    don't ignore life

    This is LIFE

    - Nakie is life.

The ignore button is for fey, lily livered sissies who cant handle life, nakie, or all things manly.

Good luck with this project. I hpe that it will be better than "By the Sword" which had Eric Roberts in it as the 'bad guy.'

    Purple - LOL

Occasional - Wish I could get an ignore button for my keychain.

Erik - I've heard bad things about the "By the Sword" movie. Eric Roberts doesn't seem to have the best choice in scripts. I think my script is good. Mine is a family comedy (heart warming I'm told) not a drama, and it's not my first script.

Phaeton - I won't drop off the face of the earth.

My apologies if I left anyone off or misspelled your names.

Update - CARUSO AND THE SWORD

I am just updating this to assure you that I have not dropped off the face of the earth.

Hope everyone had a great holiday whatever and however you celebrate.

I would like you to join my database of people interested in seeing this movie produced. I’m not asking for money, I won’t share your information, and I won’t spam you with an avalanche of emails. A large database is a positive message to potential contributors.

I am also looking for a marketing intern to work about 1-2 hours a week. I have this posted on a couple local college sites but it could be done from anywhere as I am primarily looking for someone interested in film and social media. Unfortunately, it is currently an unpaid position. Credits are negotiable.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

I don't know why everyone seems to pooh-pooh By The Sword, sure it's beset by an 80's upchucking of fashion and hair, but the script isn't terrible, and there are fine performances by both Eric Roberts and F. Murray Abraham.
If you haven't seen it Paula, you really should, for research purposes if nothing else.
Besides, it's pretty much the only film with fencing as it's core forum, so it's worth overlooking the hair...

...but hey, i'm no media studies graduate, just some guy that loves fencing.

So come all ye critics, fan the flame!

TripleTTT - Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it.

Palisadeur - I planned on watching it. I looked for the script but my usual sources didn't have it. I'll let you know what I think. I like Eric Roberts. I just think he hasn't made the best choices in scripts (where would his career be for instance if he chose the scripts Sean Penn had chosen or some of the other scripts that catapulted careers of actors the same age?)

    Again, thanks for the comments.
