Array That is some impressively high quality video from a phonebot. A guy at work just got one it seems neat. Is there any zoom?
Also, who are those people? Are keith and mehmet their last names? More info would help.
Also, and he might be the best fencer in the world and I know it's dumb to make comments about people's celebration (a whole thread could be written about the dumb stuff I say and do on strip) but the guy on the right's yells seem pretty surprised and kindof hilarious. I enjoy. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

Array Those aren't the last names. On the left is Keith Lichten, he's 14th on the Senior Men's Epee point standings. He came in 2nd at the NCAA nationals in 1996 fencing for MIT. I don't know the other guy, but making a guess based on the region and there only being one Mehmet on the points list, I'd guess he's Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu who looks to be 45th in the Senior Men's Epee point standings. -

Array I enjoyed that. The guy on the left was pretty good. Thanks for that.
What I am surprised by is that, if this is the final, why wasn't it held on an earthed piste? -
This is a Bay Cup tournament. Held in local clubs, aiming at lowest cost possible. It appears this club has not invested in one.
I also note that we have an example here of where one fencer at least cannot be run off the end of the strip. -

This was my first accidental try of video and it looks detailed enough to be worthwhile. Originally Posted by whtouche Is there any zoom? I enjoy. They fence at the same club and they are often fight each other in the finals of local events.
It is intense and a lot of it is mental game.
These celebrations worked this time Mehmet won.
I think these emotions are a good thing - they would attract people to watch fencing more than transparent masks.
Have you noticed that Mehmet does not need one to display his facial expression?
May be we need a rule to take mask off after every touch
