Array ObamaMao As Obama makes his way around Asia, it's interesting to see how the Chinese view him. Here is a popular T-Shirt that's in style with the youth of China. They love him!
It's great that our Obama is thought to be the next coming of Mao, the architect of that great peace movement and Renaissance period known as the cultural revolution.
For those not familiar with Mao and his people's revolution, here a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_Revolution
I guess the Chinese might be co-conspirators in the VRWC. Truth is Liberal. -

If it were done in this country, libs would be all over it as a right wing slam against Obama. And most likely correct.
But tell me, what motivation do the Chinese have to do something like this and make the comparisons, especially given the fact that they love him? Truth is Liberal. -

It would go in my Maomorabilia* collection with the Mao shirt that a friend brought from China, the Mao lighter that plays "The East is Red" when opened and of course the Little Red Book.
*that's for you, Gav. Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem

Remember, China's freedom of speech is very, very limited. I'm pretty sure the authorities would be somewhat leery of people showing massive support for the leader of the most prominent democratic capitalist country in the world. Incorporating Maoist imagery is a way to support Obama while appeasing the local authorities. -

Having cabinet members that respect the chairman's political philosophy probably helps too.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xYL6...eature=related
1. Was she an idiot?
2. Did she really know what Mao did to China?
3. More nuance that we're not smart enough to understand?
And if anyone really thinks the main stream media isnt in the bag for Obama, here is the (former) WhiteHouse communication director on how they control the media http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlGNh...eature=related
"We control the media....". Her words.
Another one gone the same route as Van Jones. More to come, I'm sure.

Okay, help me understand WHO exactly thinks our Obama is the next coming of Mao? You? If so, then can you explain how this photo supports your claim? -

Array I think Mao would be pretty offended to hear himself being called a socialist in the way we mean it.
Also, it's important to not that to the Chinese, Mao has completely different connotations than he does to us. The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -
