Is that right? So why are the Chinese supporting Obama?

There's that flawed logic again. Do you deny that both Chinese and Americans could support the same person? Is it not possile for Chinese and Americans to share some values?

The writing on the T-shirt you posted says "to serve the people". Perhaps not coincidentially, sounds very similar to an excerpt from that timeless Lincoln speech in which he mentioned a government "for the people". Maybe the Chinese like Obama because he believes in helping people.

As much as the Chinese may like Obama, I think you exaggerate by referring to him as the next coming of Mao. Recall that Mao is to the People's Republic of China as George Washington is to the United States. Can you imagine claiming a foreigner as the next coming of George Washington without offending a majority of the population here? I suspect not. To equate Obama with Mao is probably even more offensive to the Chinese than it is to us, though I find it pretty offensive already.
