| Strange Pistol Grip Has anyone seen the pistol grip that has a paddle like shape instead of the prong that runs towards the wrist?
I'd like to get one to try out...
Anyone know who carries it?
Thanks

| Sounds like one of the Zivkovic handles, but which one would be a guess as he had so many with a paddle. I check the web page http://www.zivkovic.com/ and found S, K, KII, G, GII, G3, Z, ZII and B all have a paddle. Check the web site. He may have more.

I use the Zivkovic Z on my foils (when I fence foil), and they did cramp my hand a bit at first. Once I relaxed my grip, the pain went away and the grip worked well.

| Zivkovic Guards I've gotten a Z and a G3 from Zivkovic. They arrived today, and I'll be trying out the G3 this evening. It feels nice. The Z is too small for my mitt - so I'm returning it for another G3, unless he has a larger version of Z.
I also ordered the Large foil guard (120 mm) because my index knuckle keeps getting whacked (by one opponent particularly), which has now caused some ongoing finger / joint pain...and my search for a different grip. (yes I know... I'm also gripping too firmly as well)
But what I wanted to report here was how pleased I was with the Zivkovic guard. Although it is $12, it comes with a dense neoprene (wetsuit mtl.) pad, a length of spaghetti, and best of all, at the blade hole there is a second flange of reinforcement inside which also forms a tunnel for the wire to exit and makes it _impossible_ for the wire to be pinched or shorted by the grip. Nice design!

- Art | Funny thing about the Zs. At a recent Nac I was trying out these grips. With the exception of the Z model the biggest grips were the base model or "1". The smaller models were the 2s and samlllest the 3s. But with the Z it seemed the Z-2, (Z II) was bigger than the Z. Just thought I'd share.
Art, why did you get a x3 model? These are the smallest (basically kid models, and maybe you are?)of each model, but the Z or Z-2 should be bigger. If your making another order, and think the G3 might be too small, i would try out the G2 or G, if you have medium to large sized hands, and depending on your gender. If you don't like it you can relegate it to a backup weapon. |

The G3 is just right - its not small. But the Z is... I'm waiting to hear back - maybe I'll just call him. I really liked the way the G3 fit though.
On the G3 the ridge for the second (middle) finger is sized well, and fits my finger tip. On the Z, it is tiny, like 1/4" deep, causing the crest to press uncomfortably into the middle of the finger.
The selection he has seems limited - at least if you go by what the website pull down menues offer...probably a mistake.

| The Zivkovic grips are "funnier" than most pistol grips in that they really do seem to require what appears to be a very undersized grip to be effective.
I fenced épée with the KII grip for a while and have since realized that I would have been much better off with the K size which is smaller. I've got a fairly fat hand, too (size 9.5).
With the KII, I found that I had to grip tighter to control the weapon. A K would have been better and easier on my hand.
Size does matter, and with grips, what appears at first to be too small is usually just right. (At least in my experience, and I've got a box full of no longer used weird grips as proof.)

| I carry the whole line of the handles plus his bellguards as well.
I have them at every Nac drop by the booth and check them out.
