    New Adistars

Thinking of purchasing them. Price isn't an issue nor durability for me (all shoes degrade folks). I would like to hear from people who actually own them and like them...what are your thoughts? I use D'art II currently and I have never been in love with them. Before that I had D'art I's and loved 'em.

These are top shoes. Get them and use the search function or go to the bottom of the page for similar posts. You could wait for Nike Ballestras but that day may never come...

Yeah I think that the Ballestra's def have a "wow" factor to them but them seeing production light of day is slim. From a business standpoint I know about cost feasibility. Yeah sure they might sell a few pairs but it's never going to justify the expense involved.

But back to the Adistars, are you satisfied with them? I have seen the new D'art 3's in person and I have to say they are about the ugliest shoes I've ever seen. They look more suited for nurses than fencers.

How does the look of shoes matter to how you fence?
Oxford shoes looks very nice, perhaps you should try them to improve your fencing.

Oxford's are too shiny for my taste on strip .

To answer you in short, does how they look make me fence better? Of course not. Call me what you will but I like performance as well as style.

I have had a pair since they came out and they are holding up really well, much better than the old style Adistars, which blew out on me after a couple months. They have a good grip and fit more true to size than Adidas fencing shoes of the past. I used to always have to order a half size up, these fit fine in my normal size.

They have a good amount of cushion and are very stable. I fence all three weapons, but am mostly an epee fencer. However I wear them when I coach foil and saber as well and no complaints. They look like they would be to tall, but your foot sits low in the so they have a decent feel of the strip.

All in all, probably my favorite Adidas shoe and I have owned a lot of them in the past.
