I did not see a NAC B discussion thread, so here you go.
Discuss the event, hotel deals, and restaurant reviews here.

The THS hotels are great. All the restaurants are great. The events are well run and all the fencers did great. Is that what you had in mind? Also, everyone got a pair of Nike fencing shoes from the f.net vendor.
Armorers were understaffed this morning and with the 2 biggest events with early check in, U16MF and U20MS were delayed due to weapons check. Otherwise, DEs were pretty quick after pools.
As far are the venue, my first impression is that this is going to be a really good. Tons of food, jazz clubs, etc real close (i.e., within 2-6 blocks). Pretty convenient except for the distance from the airport.

Other than the fact that THS messed up our reservations (what else is new), the hotel, venue, and surrounding neighborhood provided the best NAC experience I can remember (the weather didn't hurt).
Never having been to Kansas City before, I have to say I was expecting a pretty bad city experience with this NAC. I was quite pleasantly surprised. The Power & Light district, just two blocks away from the hotel, had a bunch of (non-chain!) excellent restaurants and bars. No complaints with the hotel or venue, either.
Definitely hoping we return to Kansas City next year.

Oh, and here's your flaming bagel story for the NAC:
It's mid-day yesterday, the last day of the tournament, and a bunch of Y14 sabre fencers were warming up on the finals strip. One of them gets pissed off because they lost. He is so incensed that he lost A PRACTICE BOUT, in fact, that he starts shouting and kicking equipment around. The owner of said equipment (another Y14 sabrist) runs over and, in retaliation, starts shouting at the first kid and then starts kicking him in the legs. Repeatedly.
As if that wasn't bad enough, they were both standing in plain sight of no less than 10 amused referees on a break, sitting five feet away.
