does anyone know of a way to search the fie results database by the name of the fencer? say results from around 20 years ago?

Track down someone who was at the tournament 20 years ago. :-/

Put in the name of the fencer in the results search function, choose whatever season you want.Goes back to the 50s.

epeelion, if you mean this search page, http://www.fie.ch/Competitions/Calen...x?results=true, you can't as there's no box to put the name of the fencer.

I suspect that Nahouw have been "sucking in" results from FIE website
since when FIE started publishing results around 2002.
Prior results were not available at the time.
In a recent years FIE backfilled World Championship and Olympic results
since the fifties.
If you really determined I would try to contact Nahouw owners
and point them to this fact and ask them to "suck in" these back filled results
to make them searchable.

You can get some results by searching "Fencers" instead of "Results", as there's a field for "Name". It only appears to go back to the 2001-2 season, though.

Which is still better than I can find for results for Veterans.
