Plenty of thinking--and, most certainly, making choices--can happen while you're actually fencing, without making you "too slow".
My suspicion is that FritoBandito actually just needs better (and more) training. -

Array How long have you been fencing? This is obviously the result of a lot of bouting, some drilling, or both. You say that you come out with the touch frequently, but if you don't, you should try slowing down. Sitting down lower and trying not to make an immediate riposte can help. -

Array I definitely know what you are talking about. While I don't experience this as severely as you, I do have moments when my tactic is broken and muscle memory takes over. While I am completely aware of the moves I perform, I generally have problems immediately recounting what I did. This is especially a problem when the ref makes a funny call and I want to argue it.
As mostly everybody else has said, practice is the only way to resolve your issue. I would recommend working on the scenarios where you have these moments, so that when they happen you are better prepared for them. Again, doing is more important than saying.
Hope this helps. -

OTOH referring to an LPGA final day's play as a two whore's race is just plain wrong! And by a respectable commentator, too... -

I'm still doing things when im "blacked out" but I just do things instinctively, often good things. But once I hear halt i dont usually know what happened. My coach will say great relunge+carte but I just take his word for it. I sometimes remember snippets of what happened but nothing concrete.
Is this normal or can you remember everything that happened?
As a solution to this, I have always just trained moves to be instinctive. It works because I react very quickly as my brain is not involved... so its not all bad :P
Im I weird? Any thoughts? Well if you have any sort of sight problems i believe the problem would be the black wire mesh. Perhaps get a visor mask Similar Threads -
