My Lames got wet... My basement flooded while i wasn't home and my two lames as well as a Saber helmet got wet... They now have some rusted sections.
Is there anything i can do to remove the rust or should i just start from scratch with new equipment?
i would hate to have to get rid of fairly new gear if there's a way to fix it... -

Array Need a little more info - what caused the rust on the lame`s? Were they in contact with your blades in your bag? How long were they in water? What kind of lame` is it?
Normally, the metal that is used for lame`s shouldn't contain enough free iron to corrode, so I would say the rust is from a blade that has stained the fabric and therefore shouldn't affect the conductivity of the material. I'd check it out, though with an ohmmeter. You shouldn't have a resistance above 5 ohms. If you do.............
Otherwise just lay the lame` out flat and let it air dry. You may also want to soak it in a solution of warm water and a dash of Woolite. Rinse with clean water and let dry. -

Array With what we know about this... I'd try a bathtub 6 inches full of warm water and soap. Lay the lame' out and push it up and down in the water, getting everything worked w/ the soap. Rinse and let it air dry, or roll it up in a towel. Similar Threads -
