| Neutral Milk Hotel are really good; they're among the originators of indie rock.
Also, how could I forget, and I can't believe nobody has mentioned, Arcade Fire!
One of the best albums of all time: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco.
And while it may be stretching the boundaries of the "indie rock" genre, I also really like MGMT and Santigold.
Edit: Also, Modest Mouse is pretty good. And, as others have said, Death Cab, the Shins, the Decemberists, and Radiohead are all great.
Edit Edit: And Regina Spektor.
Edit Edit Edit: And Sufjan Stevens.
