strange blades

Does anyone know what company sells blades with an oval mark on the forte with the words "Made in Italy?" I got some at a flea market and it turns out they are awesome. I'd get some more, but I don't know who makes them. Thanks. Oh, they're foil blades if that matters.

That'd be Scaroni, who've been out of business for about 8 years.

Dan DeChaine told me at the Long Beach Invitational that Uhlmann has purchased the Scaroni forges and will be making their own blades now.

Oh well. I guess the two I have will last a while with the amount of fencing I do. Was Scaroni good? It feels good to me, but I have only owned one foil other than my "new" one so I don't have much experience to draw on. I guess they couldn't be to good or they would still be in business.

Sacroni bladeswerevery good in my opinion. But it doesn't seem like enough other people shared that opinion or they would still be in business.
