Kazakstan defeated Japan 45-42 for the bronze.

In the women's epee, South Korean Kim Mi-jung, Kim Hee-jeong, Hyun Hee and Lee Keum-nam defeated China's Zhong Weiping, Li Na, Shen Weiwei and Zhang Li 45-35 for the gold. Hong Kong took the bronze, defeating Kazakstan 39-29.
