Slightly off topic but the word on the streets of Antalya is that Men's Epee and Woman's Sabre team events are missing out in London...

Please note: The World Championships will only be available ONLINE at 10:30 am Eastern time starting Oct 3rd. I originally thought it would be broadcast on the Universal Sports Cable TV Channel--it will not.

Is it the first time when preliminary rounds separated from the final 64 DE by 2 days?

Note that's a live broadcast, so just the finals.

If anyone else finds a live internet feed of the rest of the Championships I suspect a number of other people here would be interested....

When WCSN was still around, didn't it stream all the events? Don't really understand why Universal Sports doesn't do the video stream for all the rounds from 64 to finals. If they set up cameras, etc., for the pistes anyway, why not just let it roooll! I know--it's naive of me...

Streaming is good, but does anyone know if these bouts will live on after the championships are done? On youtube somewhere perhaps? If not is it possible to assemble an effort to capture them?

It appears that Daria and Dagmara have to fence each other to make 32 in the preliminary tableau today.

No. That seeding is going to shift once the byes get included in the tableaux. However, Dagmara and Monica do have to fence each other, and the winner fences the winner of Daria v Socha.

Thanks for the clarification. That sounds worse than my misunderstanding.

Isn't it Dagmara and Daria that will fence each other?

No, those are only today's results, which puts them into a table of 32 people, to which 32 others will be added (top 16 in the world + top 16 from pools), making a table of 64 which will be fenced on Saturday.

So Dagmara and Daria will be 48th and 49th, not 16th and 17th. They will have to fence the 16th and 17th seeds, which are Monica and Socha (the top finisher from pools).

I'm still confused. Please look at the tableau preliminaire of 128 for Mens Foil. There are no byes to be added--note how the first two fencers for example, with empty slots between them, have already fenced to top 32 today. Is the set up different in WS?

No, you're looking at the same thing. Notice the top foil fencers aren't in that tableau.

Yes I agree. The top foilists are not in that tableau preliminary, and the top WS fencers are also not in today's preliminary tableau either. But in the MF event, the preliminary tableau has already been fenced to the top 32. In the WS, it has not. Shouldn't the WS preliminary tableau also be fenced to its top 32 today, just like the MF? Then the top 16 from the original seeding and the top 16 out of the pools are added in three days for the final tableau? Or am I confused because the number of fencers is different in the WS?

The number of pink-background names here

    http://www.live.fie.ch/antalya/resul...bleau_a128.htm

is 32. To that 32, 32 others will be added.
