LP lightweight foil lame cut I am on a market for new lame and was considering LP lightweight. Does anyone know how the cut of this lame is comparing to Allstar/Uhlmann?
I've read a comment on this site that LP lightweight should fit an average slim/medium built person rather well but after looking at actual measurements published on Leon Paul's site I tend to think that this may not be the case.
I am 5'10", my chest measurement is 39.5", waist - 31". According to their size chart I should get size 40. Now, the actual chest measurement for LP lame size 40 is 44" (which is OK, considering extra 3-4 inches added by plastron and jacket) while the actual waist measurement is 40" (which is too big for someone my build).
So, can anyone comment on the cut of LP lightweight lames? Are they really that "baggy" as it looks judging by the measurement chart? -
Hey,
I'm 6'2, 38" chest, and 32" waist.
I wear the INOX, but I would think they are the same cut.
I wear the 40 and it seems a tiny bit baggy.
I could not fit into the 38 because there was too much pressure on my armpits.
Since your chest is a little bigger than mine, I think it would be quite snug on the top, maybe more baggy towards the waist.
This cut is more full when compared to Allstar or Uhlmann. (\ /)

Array I measure 42 at the chest (inhale), 31 at the waist. I wear a 42 LP jacket and a 42 LP lame. http://photos-e-9.ak.fbcdn.net/photo...68244_6465.jpg
There is more movement in the waist than the shoulders, but I wouldn't describe it as baggy. -
Thanks guys. I think I'd give it a try -

Array Looks like the OP is a guy, but just in case any female fencers come across this thread with similar questions -- boy, is the LP women's lightweight foil lame cut short! Full, I agree with, and also these are great, very high quality lames, but if you're a woman and not < 5'7", tops, you're outta luck. :-/ -

Array When ordering LP (or Absolute for that matter) I order true to chest size and go long if they are a couple inches taller than the European idea of average. In other words if I have a girl that is a 36" chest and between 5'2-5'6 I order her a 36 regular. If she is any taller than that I would order her a Long. It seems to me that what is consider tall in UK fencing clothes sizing is what I would consider average and what I would consider tall is considered "freakishly huge"... Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Array Last Spring I was able to visit London and pick up some new equipment in person. One item was a new lame. Yeah, the LP women's lame is cut rather short... being 5'4" myself, I find the fit very nice. But, I definitely could image the fit being short on any woman taller than average.
