I think both are great, the problem is that in the first instance the videos seem to be without context and in the second case sometimes it is hard to find a bout that shows a lot of chess playing (for example, the Covaliu v Smart match there is not much happening, and the Mokretsov v Lopez is a study in Mokretsov not changing.) Also, in the full bout examples, sometimes there are really just a couple of touches that are really interesting when someone makes a change.

Rather than going with a failure video, maybe examine on move or style but add some analysis about how someone might try to adjust to negate this (whether it works or not.) For example, you could pull out those "change moments" from different bouts when someone tries to switch things up. So, given Lapkes' attack, what have different opponents done to try and address his attack? Whether they work or not, seeing people try to make adjustments is the real payoff. This would certainly also make it possible to include some things like the Oh bout as a kind of "the dangers of Lapkes game is if x."
i would be perfectly happy to do the first one but i have no idea how i would even go about doing that. when i first started asking for suggestions about 2 months ago someone suggested i do an analysis of limbach, buikevich, and igoe and how their attacks, defense, and first zone game are similar because of their height and unique in spite of it. and i was like uh...i would love to how on earth do i go about doing that. same thing here. i would have no idea how to even approach something like that. if you have any suggestions about it please let me know

i will try to do a better job of just pointing out what would work well against them. the only problem is that a lot of these videos are pretty long and people dont always want to see that sort of thing, hence the appeal of a failure video. i do think that there is some merit in adding a few examples and telling you where to look elsewhere to find more examples of successful ways to deal with it. and if anyone still has any questions i can type out my thoughts on how to deal with it in a thread like this one. i added only about 3 examples of what to do against dumi but i suggested several places to look for more of them. that video will be out tomorrow

    Ah, kids.

Your terminology is really quite terrible. The videos are your personal project and you can make up or misuse any terms you want. But a better understanding and use of terminology would, in fact, strengthen your product significantly. It would also create more clarity and new pathways for understanding in your own mind.

There is clearly a lot of appreciation for the work you're doing and I have no doubt that it will continue even if you start referring to parry-ripostes as "tick-booms". So really it's a matter of your own desire for improvement.

Ha -- I have no idea how to do this, either, but I think what you lay out in the second paragraph is great and moves towards what I was thinking about.

And, for the record, I think your language and terminology is just fine. I always know what you mean and get a lot out of the commentary.

Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you!
