    SERIOUSLY need help finding shoes

I know, I know, this topic has been discussed dozens and dozens of times, but I really can't find myself a pair of good fencing shoes.
I only want to spend $100 or $150 max. I have the Hi-tec Blades but i want something a bit lighter, and I've had the Blade Scimitars and they suck. So i want a fairly light shoe with good traction, If anyone could help.
Also where to get it would be nice.

Don't be cheap. Get Adidas AdiStars. Worth every penny.

the 2008 fencing adistar is literally the exact same shoe as the 2008 racquetball adistar, except $100 or so more expensive and has "fencing" written on it instead of "racquetball". ripoff.

Yeah, I've been looking for some shoes myself too. I'm really bummed that it seems like you can't get any of the Nikes any more. I don't care for the Leon Paul's, or the new Adidas... Which is really sad, considering I've only bought Adidas fencing shoes since about 1994 or so. The new Adistars just don't do it for me, almost as much as the previous, blue silver and black version. And the new version of the Darts look more like the basketball style of shoes everyone's been getting into. I'd like to find something narrow and light, but haven't found much. :-/

I'm also looking for shoes and was considering the Scimitars. What didn't you like about them? I've heard that they run wide, which is not a problem for me.

As an aside, are there any reliable rumors about when Nike will start to produce their fencing shoes again? It'll be good to have more choices.

Your ability to pick good shoes is second only to your ability to make a compelling and persuasive argument.

Adidas Feather III/IV are quite good, and under $100.

Or Asics Gel Rockets. Or Mizuno. Or Nike. Or just about any lightweigh racquetball or volleyball shoe.

I've heard many good things from many people about the Absolute fencing shoes that came out last year...$59 I think. They run a teeny bit small, my friend said his toes felt a little squished. If that's gonna bother you, try a half size up.

"They suck" isn't a very useful thing to say, not to mention being a very subjective thing framed in a needlessly disparaging way. I happen to like the scimitars. Some people like Adidas D'arts and Adidas En Gardes which are on sale in a way that meets your price requirements here:

I am interested in hear what you don't like about the blades and scimitars. I have been considering these as I have a Morton's neuroma and need a wider shoe. Addidas seems to like to make their shoes really narrow.

Want a cheap pair of useful fencing shoes?

Get Fei Yue martial artists' shoes.

For the Brits, imagine lace-up Dunlop shoes for grown ups.

Less than 15 GBP on Ebay, I got 4 pairs for 1.2GBP each in China.

Light, grippy, simple; that is all.

the blades scuff easily and wear out fairly quickly, my friend also got a pair of the scimitars and he hates them- they are kinda heavy.

Are you by any chance fencing on a belt sander?

These things you say simply don't mesh up with reality.

My hi-tec Blades are like tanks as far as wear...
I have been wearing them for about 2 years and they are still going strong.

I will probably replace them next season with the Scimitars.

I have it don to 2 pairs: Keep using the Blades (not the scimitars, the 100$ ones), or get the Dartagnan II. Which do you guys reccomend? Are the Dartagnans Much lighter? IF you have a preference, give me a reason why?

If you think the Blades don't last long.. why would you choose a shoe like the D'art II's that are notorious for having durability issues?
