You might try doing a search for threads related to any particular shoe - shoes tend to be a popular subject around here and the 2004 Adistar's have certainly been around long enough to have been discussed at least once (and probably a lot more than just once).

You may also want to try looking through the equipment reviews on this website (go to the top of the page and click on "Equipment Reviews" - shoes are listed underneath "Clothing". There you will find a number of reviews related to shoes, including some regarding the 2004 Adistar).

Hey DangerMouse - Do the Asics Gel Rockets have decent arch support? I'm thinking about getting a pair, but can't seem to find them locally to try them on before purchasing.

They have more arch support than any of the fencing specific shoes I've worn except the old black stripes. I also wear Asics or Mizuno running shoes and the arches in the Gel Rockets are about equivalent to my running shoes (currently Asics gt-2130, previously Mizuno Wave Rider). They have a neutral footbed, but if you need to correct pronation or supination or need more or less arch support the insoles are removable.

I got mine at Dick's sporting goods, so if you have one near you they might have them in stock.

I would love to try Mizuno's volleyball shoes since I loved their running shoes, but I can't find anywhere to try them locally either.

Unlike Adidas brand fencing shoes, the Adidas Stabils (squash/volleyball shoes) run pretty wide.
