Array I could not get high res videos to download after my initial post. Only regular quality. I did a bunch more research and found that if I downloaded and installed the add-on, downloadhelper for Firefox, you can download very high res quality. The match I tested with, went from less than 20MB to about 70MB. The quality is spectacular. I'm a foil fencer, and I can change, if I have to, I guess. -

At least that's what my wrist looks like when i'm trying to land a coupe to the front of the body. Everyone relax cause I got it.... -

Array I thought I would sticky this for the moment.
Is there an appetite for a stickied thread that contains all of the vid links we can find (e.g. this and the compilation videos)?

Array You don't think FencingVideos.net does a good enough job of listing all of their videos?
Could there be a meta-list, categorizing the offerings from fencingvideos.net plus this new FIE channel, plus whatever else people dig up? Sure. I'm not sure that it would add enough value to balance the effort of maintaining it, especially if it merely ends up being mostly a listing of the offerings from two primary sources. Unless the categorization scheme used in the meta-lsit is significantly better for locating specific material.

Could go through and add tags to the relevent threads but that's time consuming and clunky. If you come to the site looking for vids you might not know the tags that have been assigned to them anyway.
Most forums I've been to have important topics stuck to the top of their listings. It's just a thought. -

Array Thanks for the vote of confidence. Unfortunately, I haven't been regularly updating the website, because of various responsibilities over the last couple of months, as well as just general summer break-iness.
Anyway, is there something immoral about indexing the videos on the FIEvideo YouTube account? If not, maybe I'll eventually get started on that.
I made the site on Google Sites, since I don't have to much time to build it from scratch and it's a simple enough concept. But I am frustrated by the lack of a RSS feed for the updates page. You'd figure that would be a "duh" feature. -

-B There are other people putting vids up on the net. Personally I think a general index would help. When I came back to fencing there was very little useful stuff out there that told you where to get things. If I was new but wanted to view vids and I didn't know that site; how would I know where to look? Fencing.net wsa #1 on google for fencing last time I looked.
It's just a thought so I am a little perplexed by the hostility. -

It's just a thought so I am a little perplexed by the hostility. I installed a mod at /forums/videos/ to do that where you can enter the YouTube URL, your own description, and tags to the video.
Thus far, I haven't had time to spend going through all of the videos that I've found. Ideally when input into the forum thing one would add a good text description of the video, what to look for, etc.
I would expect people to also link back to the original poster's youtube channel or web site within the description, so if someone really likes a video they can track down the author to find more.

Array Ah, I'd forgotten about that. I'll unstick this.
