One wonders if young Master Chase's attitude about that might be any different if this was 1969, not 2009...and he was staring at his Selective Service notice instead of a college admission form.

You might also want to check in with the residents of the former South Vietnam for a fact check on how they felt about your victory which contained the spread of communism.

Communism did not spread beyond Vietnam in south Asia because they were preoccupied with fighting us in Vietnam. If we never went into Vietnam, who knows how far it would have spread.

Look, just because you liberals are ashamed to be Americans doesn't mean that you can deny reality. It wasn't a perfect victory, but it was a victory.

Also we weren't fighting for the residents of South Vietnam, we were fighting for our FREEDOM.

For the same reason I attempt to take a PIL rather than stand on the strip and stare. It's.... a challenge.

So how do I put someone on the ignore list to remove the temptation?

I agree with you guys, and figure he's one of these possibilities:
    • He is, as advertised, an obnoxious, ill-mannered adolescent with exaggerated notions of how smart and knowledgable he is.
    • He is a sock puppet operated by a right-winger to express opinions more vulgarly than he would do in public.
    • He is a sock puppet operated by a left winger to make right wingers look worse than they are.
    • He is part of a social networking experiment conducted to see how people respond to trolls.
    • He is the lizard mutant spawn of Chulhu, sent here to distract us while aliens take over our planet and steal our precious bodily fluids.

    Any other suggestions?

That's funny, BB, I've never heard anyone seriously refer to Obama that way, but I've heard plenty of whackos claiming he's the anti-christ. Now which party do all of those whackos belong to?

    Obama Quotes:

“A light will shine down from somewhere, it will light upon you. You will experience an epiphany and you will say to yourself, I have to vote for Barack”

BB dishonestly (honesty not his strong point) clips the first quote, which begins: "I am going to try to be so persuasive in the 20 minutes or so that I speak that by the time this is over, a light will shine down... (etc)" Translation: I'm going to try to be really persuasive.

The 2nd quote, while a kind of purple and over the top, translates to "we're going to do better than the guy I'm replacing". Which is what elected officials always say. In other words, no big deal. George WIll (conservative, in case you didn't know) parodies this at http://www.newsweek.com/id/140461 and mocks McCain even more than Obama.

For your entertainment, goofy quotes from Ronald Reagan:

All the waste in a year from a nuclear power plant can be stored under a desk.

Approximately 80% of our air pollution stems from hydrocarbons released by vegetation, so let's not go overboard in setting and enforcing tough emission standards from man-made sources.

I'm not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.

It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?

My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes.

Or, since we're talking about florid prose: You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

So, if Ronnie can be over the top, it's okay.

So we were victorious because communism did not spread beyond SE Asia? By that logic, then the Mexicans won the Mexican-American War right? After all, the Mexicans prevented us from spreading beyond the Rio Grande.

It drives trolls to keep trolling. "Feeding the trolls" is the most apt description. As a longtime admin, I can say from experience that it can make things a lot worse (in this situation it really isn't that big of a deal, just sayin'). I think for a bit it's amusing but after awhile it's just annoying. He's actually winning by making you waste your time with him.

That said, it's your prerogative. Have fun if that's what floats your boat!

Same here. I hope the sock puppet's owner is enjoying this.

I wonder if the sock puppet's recording this and we'll be on YouTube or in some school report later.

Thanks. I'd looked right past that earlier. Got it now.
