Communism did not spread beyond Vietnam in south Asia because they were preoccupied with fighting us in Vietnam. If we never went into Vietnam, who knows how far it would have spread.

BB dishonestly (honesty not his strong point) clips the first quote, which begins: "I am going to try to be so persuasive in the 20 minutes or so that I speak that by the time this is over, a light will shine down... (etc)" Translation: I'm going to try to be really persuasive.

The 2nd quote, while a kind of purple and over the top, translates to "we're going to do better than the guy I'm replacing". Which is what elected officials always say. In other words, no big deal. It drives trolls to keep trolling. "Feeding the trolls" is the most apt description. As a longtime admin, I can say from experience that it can make things a lot worse (in this situation it really isn't that big of a deal, just sayin'). I think for a bit it's amusing but after awhile it's just annoying. He's actually winning by making you waste your time with him.
