Anyone know the correct cable to use to connect my RS18 scoring box to my laptop? The box end is a 9 pin socket and have asked the vendor but he does not know. The RS 18 is a fine scoring box (so far in my experience) but lacking much on the paper manual side.

It's just a 9pin serial cable, isn't it? You'll probably need a serial to usb adapter if your laptop is even remotely new.

After doing some research and checking f.n I sent an email to Amico asking about the cable and possible software to use. I have the Amico RS 18 and its rugged, simple, bright and loud. No problems as mentioned in past threads concerning older and smaller Amico machines. I hope I can get the box to send info to my FencingTime - the remote does have a "send info" function. The lack of printed information is the only con as the machine seems to be in FIE compliance but upgrading may turn out to be a problem.
