Array Hopefully I am not delusional : about 3-4 years ago (with help of meditation, video, downhill skiing, and sprints) I finally was able to focus enough on the opponents' action and see their attacks in somewhat slower motion, something my Coach has been yelling at me for years - so training to become a better fencer, in a way helped with the Golf Psycho, as well as, a Drunk Playground Dad, etc...
They were not masking their attacks all that well, nor planned a 2nd or a 3rd intention (although an extremely respected and successful Eastern European coach once read me an x-large + x-emotional lecture that 3rd intention does not exist, and yes he was sober and not smoking during such). Shortly thereafter they were escorted off the course. I think even if you're vintage bruce lee incarnate that not feeling threatened by someone swinging a golf club at you is bad policy. It's Ok to admit you were frightened, if only briefly. Saying otherwise is just difficult to believe.
