where can i buy inexpensive used equipment for kids?

Hi there!

I am currently looking to buy used fencing equipment for kids at the elementary school I work at. We are thinking about putting together a class as an elective or after-school activity. I am only looking to get some inexpensive masks, gloves, foils, and jackets - nothing electric, all dry. This would all be purchased (hopefully) with a grant or stipend.

I am curious if people have any advice on where to look. The kids are in an "at risk" community, so it would be such a great experience and opportunity!

Where is your school located?

The Bronx. I am currently living in Manhattan though. I might get in touch with people I know from FC and those places to see if people any have anything...

I would look at contacting some of the local clubs. You might come across one that would offer instruction and bring equipment. The grant could be used to pay for this service rather than buy equipment.

Alternately, by contacting your local clubs you might find one that is closing and you could buy some/ all of their equipment.
